The Band

Current season

Our ensemble ranges in age from 16 to 80 and draws from across the Valley of the Sun. Roughly half our members are active or retired music educators — the rest are freelancers, military musicians, and devoted amateurs who share a love for the brass band sound.

The Sections

Salt River Brass is instrumented in the British brass band tradition — all brass with percussion, organized into conical and cylindrical voices that blend into a single unified choir of sound.

Salt River Five

The intimate side of the Salt River Brass sound — a traditional brass quintet with a repertoire spanning five centuries. Two trumpets, horn, trombone, and tuba — drawn from the principal players of Salt River Brass.

The Salt River Five performs at smaller venues, private events, weddings, corporate functions, and community outreach engagements throughout the Valley of the Sun. Each player is a principal from the full brass band, so you're hearing the same artistry — distilled into five voices.
